Welcome to Narrandera

Perched beside the Murrumbidgee River and its corridor of red gum, Narrandera blends elegance, environment and history, bringing you an oasis of tree lined streets, shady parks and gardens. This is Wiradjuri Country and we honour elders past and present as the traditional owners of the land which makes up Narrandera Shire. Narrandera and its villages sit at the heart of the agricultural hub known as the Riverina, and at the gateway to the productive Murrumbidgee Irrigation Area. The town is a popular meeting place for regional and city travellers to explore the region.

Explore our site for boutique shopping, dining, plan a heritage walk, or take a tour at one of the Shire’s museums. You can set out on a walk through our Flora and Fauna Reserve or Narrandera Wetlands, or relax at Lake Talbot, Lake Talbot Aquatic Park or by the side of the Murrumbidgee.

Lots of things to see and do!

COVID-19 (Coronavirus)

COVID-19 is now impacting all of Australia and restrictions are in place. The government is urging the cancellation or postponement of non-essential travel.

On 30th March 2020, the NSW Public Health (COVID-19 Restrictions on Gathering and Movement) Order 2020 under the Public Health Act 2010 was updated so that a person must not, without reasonable excuse, leave the person’s place of residence, and states that taking a holiday in a regional area is not a reasonable excuse. The legislation is available to view here.

We look forward to welcoming you to the Narrandera Shire once this crisis is over, and we remind everyone that you should not visit regional areas during this time. Visit our Instagram https://www.instagram.com/narranderatourism/ for inspiration for your next holiday here, or follow our Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/Narrandera.Tourism/ for updates.

We are encouraging local businesses keep their information up to date regarding online purchasing, and take away and delivery food options, but we suggest that you make contact with the individual business from whom you are planning to purchase to confirm their situation.
