Some experiences…..

Our Waterways

The Murrumbidgee River runs between Narrandera and Gillenbah and is home to endangered species Murray Cray, Trout Cod and Murray Cod. The river is bounded by a red gum corridor characteristic of the Riverina region.

Rocky Water Hole area is a popular spot for picnics, fishing, canoeing and camping. A bridge  links public reserve areas north and south of the Bundidgerry Creek for visitors and locals to enjoy. When you are enjoying the great outdoors in the waterway environs you may see a Wallaby, Kangaroo, Koala or Goanna and this place is no exception. Not far from the bridge there is a boat ramp, a simple barbeque and a shelter with tables and seating.

Narrandera Water Tower

Using over 120 litres of paint applied to the murals and river that connects the two artworks, the outcome is an incredible sight to behold.  With the best view across town, visitors and residents are able to head to the water tower and immerse themselves in a visual collection of landmarks, activities, flora and fauna that resonates with our community. The stories behind the design include significant icons for the Narrandera Shire Community with the colours inspired by our local environment including the colours of sunsets viewed from this site.

Narrandera Bike and Hike Experience

A great experience for visitors who love to bike and hike! There are three separate track entry points, take one, or take them all. You are able to tailor your journey to suit your experience and ability. Directional and interpretive signage will guide you throughout the trails. Trails will take you past historic buildings, gorgeous street scapes, koala spotting opportunities, past the Murrumbidgee River, and Lake Talbot, past two picnic areas with toilet facilities and BBQ, Narrandera Wetlands for bird life experience.
