Get out your sporting gear and start limbering up for this year’s 10th Barellan Masters Games, held on the last weekend in February (26th -27th ) in Barellan, home of Australia’s world famous tennis player, Evonne Goolagong-Cawley.
This year the Narrandera Community Bank Barellan Masters Games will feature 10 different sports which are all sponsored and provide something for everyone, with all proceeds going back into the community to assist with building infrastructure and needs.
In a staggering feat for the community, the Barellan Masters Games committee has already donated over $105,000 in grants since its inception in 2010. These funds have helped organisations within the community to complete projects such as Hands of Learning at the Barellan Central School and an upgrade to the Netball courts at the Sportsground, just to name a few.
The Covid Safe weekend starts on Saturday morning with the Walk, Cattle Team Sorting, Doubles Tennis, Golf, Women’s Basketball, Softball with Lawn Bowls under lights Saturday night at the Bowling Club. All will roll up again on Sunday the 27 th for the Triathlon, Netball and 6-a-side Cricket. With this been our 10 th Games we have 95.1fm playing music for the lawn bowlers to rock to on Saturday night at the Club and Triple M to keep the crowd entertained at the sportsground on Sunday.
