Narrandera Wetlands

Narrandera Wetlands

Visit the beautiful Narrandera Wetlands situated less than a kilometre from the Narrandera Visitor Information Centre, directly across the road from the Brewery Flat Oval, picnic area and Murrumbidgee River view, and adjacent to the Sturt and Trunk Route memorials.

Home to an amazing variety of native birds, the Narrandera Wetlands rests in tranquil surrounds guaranteed to refresh you. Take advantage of the bird hides to study the activity on the water. The hides are painted in local Wiradjuri themes. The walking track around the wetland area allows you a number of vantage points.

Public toilets are located at the Visitor Information Centre in the Marie Bashir Park, just 800 metres from the Wetlands – about 2 minutes by car – straight along the Newell Highway until you reach the Park. Amenities are open 8am-6pm daily. Unisex night toilet open after hours.

The Narrandera Wetlands are permanently open, allowing for dawn, day and dusk visits.

COVID-19 (Coronavirus)

COVID-19 is now impacting all of Australia and restrictions are in place. The government is urging the cancellation or postponement of non-essential travel.

On 30th March 2020, the NSW Public Health (COVID-19 Restrictions on Gathering and Movement) Order 2020 under the Public Health Act 2010 was updated so that a person must not, without reasonable excuse, leave the person’s place of residence, and states that taking a holiday in a regional area is not a reasonable excuse. The legislation is available to view here.

We look forward to welcoming you to the Narrandera Shire once this crisis is over, and we remind everyone that you should not visit regional areas during this time. Visit our Instagram https://www.instagram.com/narranderatourism/ for inspiration for your next holiday here, or follow our Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/Narrandera.Tourism/ for updates.
